The Sun was making a stressful aspect to Saturn, which rules government.  The Sun highlights where it transits.  It was in the 11th house of organizations, while Saturn was in the 8th house of joint finances and unfortunately, the house of death.  

The Moon was void of course beginning last evening at 8:42 PM EDT, as it was in Gemini. Notice the position of the Moon is in the 9th house of foreign affairs.  By 11:09 AM, the attacks of both the World Trade Center and the Pentagon were done, as the Moon moved into Cancer.  When the Moon is void of course, it is in the process of changing signs and has no specific aspects made to it.  Conditions in people's minds can be vague and lacking specific definition.  This condition can lead to a period of uncertainty.  Somewhere, security was not paying it's full attention, and this allowed this group (or whomever is responsible for this) to break national and local security and get themselves into the airplanes which crashed into the buildings. Some planets which change signs coincide with mass consciousness.  It is obvious that the consciousness of our nation has been affected by this.  This is a global atrocity, because no nation is 100% safe from violent acts.  

The Moon in Cancer rules the public at large as well as our emotions.  This has an impact on our basic need to nurture and take care of one another.  

The Moon at the time of the attacks was opposing Mars, the planet of war and the military.  When there is a Moon/Mars aspect, it shows a time of anger, instability, and potential violence.  The conditions were right for the terrorists to execute these attacks affectively.  My impression as I witnessed the replay of the airplane flying into the second tower was that it was timed purposely so that there would be enough time to focus all the cameras and attention on the World Trade Center, once the first tower had been hit.  This made it easy for the terrorists to make sure that the second plane attack would be televised.  

Mercury was was conjunct the Ascendant by one degree.   Mercury rules airway travel and transport.  There was much communication between the "many faces" of the assailants before this occurred. The ascendant is the physical appearance of the Twin Towers.  Mercury also is the ruler of Gemini, which happens to be the sign of the twins.  It just seems just so bizarre.

I feel this was planned for many months, and that the truth of who is behind this is going to take time...but that we will find out. 

Venus was in the 10th house of government and it was in opposition to Uranus, the planet of sudden and unexpected occurrences.  This situation we all now face in the nation is going to change the way we feel about our homes, as Uranus was about to transit the 4th house of the home by 9:30 AM.  Astrological knowledge tells us that where Uranus visits, it tends to shake up our world.  Things such as this horrific act occur and results in our lives never being the same again.  Uranus comes in like lightning, and it took seconds for the twin towers to be demolished in such an unnecessary and cowardly act.

Jupiter and Mercury made a stress aspect to each other, which again is between the 9th house of foreign affairs, travel, politics, interests, agents, agencies and our communications with them.  Jupiter was conjunct the Midheaven, which is a strong point in the chart, making the event larger than life.  This attack was meant to be large and the persons behind it succeeded (I say "persons", but at this time, no claim nor accusations have been made. This is just my sense of all of it).  The United States will need to make a stronger stand on both how we deal with terrorism as well as peace with the rest of the world.  

Neptune transited the 4th house.  Neptune rules confusion and uncertainty.  Neptune in the fourth can indicate confusion in our psychological values about how safe we feel at home in the US.  This was a psychological attack as well as a physical and emotional one.  

Pluto was just about to move into the second house of money and assets about 15 minutes later.  The World Trade Center symbolizes commerce and assets in our country.  Pluto rules the masses.  The stock market had ceased much activity so far, and these attacks are going to affect the financial condition of our country, our commerce with foreign affairs, and our political stand on import and export.  Pluto was aspecting Mercury, which tells me that one of the motivations for this act was to affect the financial security of our nation.
